Using the cutting-edge technologies to the full, the SaM-Solutions company is pleased to announce the coming release of a line of software products for the Palm computers. Our first shareware Palm application is Business Calculator for Palm (BCalcPalm).

BCalcPalm is a tool intended to simplify your currency calculations. It has all the capabilities of an ordinary calculator plus capabilities to work with currencies of various countries.

The 15-days evaluation copy has no functional restrictions. You can work with over 160 currencies. Currency rates are updated every hour. And yet it's not the full list of unique capabilities. Check out for some more below.

Main features:

  • A redirect-server program under Windows, which directs the Palm requests to our server;
  • Direct Internet connection from your Palm (for instance, via cellular phone) for currency rate updates;
  • Configurable buttons for quick specifying of currencies;
  • Keeping calculation history, up to ten histories;
  • All functions of a conventional calculator, including the use of memory;
  • IR connection support;
  • Simple currency rates update via HotSync Manager;
  • Manual currency rates update support;
  • Currencies printout;
  • Previous dates' currency rates.

The Main window of the BCalcPalm application has all the buttons of an ordinary calculator, plus it has four buttons for quick entry of currencies that you can specify to your preference. Another box is added to display the result of currency conversion from the first box to the currency in the second box. This 3.01 version has a new Backspace button for a convenient error correction.
On pressing the Rates button a window displays enumerating the currency rates. This window also shows currency rates update and printout buttons.To work with required currencies, enable the checkbox next to the name of the respective currency.
The Update button opens the Connection window. In the window you can update currency rates. The Hide button shows/hides the currencies that are not enabled for use. Using the Print button you can printout the required currency rates. The printout will be carried out during the next synchronization session with your PC.

The History button displays the last 10 calculation histories. The switching between histories is performed with the help of numbered bookmarks. The smallest number relates to the most recent calculation history.

In the Connection window you can update currency rates by setting the connection parameters and tapping the respective Update button depending on the selected currency rates update method. You may also load the previous dates' rates. Click the Select button and choose the date you' dlike to get currencies of, but not earlier than April, 19 2002.

    Previous Version 3.02 Update (Jul, 17 2002):

  • This improved version got the new feature of loading the previous dates' currency rates from our website www.sam-solutions.net. Now, at the right top corner of the Connection window you can select any date you'd like to get currency rates of, but not earlier than April, 19 2002.
  • HotSync updates became even more convenient. Now you can select the option of regular currency rates update every time you perform a synchronization with your PC.
  • The calculator now supports 4 digits after the comma.
